This is a view of the western part of Fuengirola's beach promenade about sunrise. As you may see, the whole promenade is still beaming with life.

Fuengirola is one of the liveliest nightly places on the Costa del Sol. Finding something to do is not hard at all, just walk towards the "Paseo Maritimo" (beach promenade) and you'll find lot's & lot's of places where to be entertained. Due to it's location, Fuengirola is the best landing spot if you are planning on visiting the various surrounding resorts on the Costa del Sol.

Thourghout the entire 5 miles beach promenade you may find over 300 restaurants, bars, pubs, shops, discotheques, clubs, lounges, salsa and all sorts of music dancing places, and the famous "chiringuitos" (sea sided restaurants literally right on the beach. Among these, some have become more popular than others, specially among the young, and not-so-young visitors. Here's a list of some of them:

  • The Gun Riverside (schedule/more info)
  • London pub (promenade/marina)
  • Highway Cafe (promenade/marina)
  • Area 51 (promenade/marina)
  • Iirish times (city centre)
  • O'Reillys (citiy centre)
  • Havana (dancing/city centre)
  • Hollywood cafe (promenade)
  • Mai Tai (club/promenade)
  • Video Café (karaoke/promenade)
  • Pub Koppas (latino/boliches)

Furthermore, we do realize that Fuengirola's nightlife is not just all about bars & pubs, beers, drinks and meeting people. This is precisely the reason why we love so much this place, becuse one can do almost everything you wish to do. All year round, there are many festivals on the area: music, classical dance, ballet, flamenco, theater, and even the circus comes twice a year. Not to mention that just accross the road in june, there's the Mijas International Blues Festival with magnificent participants like this year's Sugar Blue, Red House, West Weston's or the Blues de Bellota. Also accross the road, not to forget the nightly horseracing going at the only Costa del Sol horse raceway, or our only and widely known zoo right here in Fuengirola which has night special tours which end up with a dinner and some spectacular african dancing with fire jugglers.

Now that we are leaning more over the family or romantic side of Fuengirola, we may aswell remind you of the horse-run charriots that will give you a magnificent ride all over the place for as little as 20 or 30 euros an hour, or the mechanical attractions for kids (or for those of us who will not give up childhood) like the crazy car's or the carousels carefully located on different parts of the promenade. And if what you are looking is not to spend much money, just walking about the city centre it's an experience in itself.
