Supermarkets:

There are 3 local supermarkets within a few minutes walk of the accomodation (one en route from Torreblanca train station, one en route from the beach, one open Sunday).

The largest supermarket is Eroski at the Miramar shopping centre (take the No4 bus from the stop visible on the road below the apartment balcony, direction Miramar via Fuengirola, or it is a 10 minute drive toward Marbella). Buses run until circa 8.30pm. A taxi is circa 7 euros anywhere in Fuengirola (always one or two outside the hotel next door).http://www.malaga-airport-guide.com/miramar-shopping-complex.html

Mercadona, more restaurants and more shops can be found at Plaza Mayor (town is walled in, get off the train just before the airport, and cross the road for the entrance of the town ) http://www.malaga-airport-guide.com/plaza-mayor.html, & it has a good authentic atmostphere at night.

Carrefour is at El Pinillo - a 15 minute drive, or 5 minutes walk from Montemar train stop (visible from the train).

Alternatively, the old parts of Malaga and Fuengirola have bakeries, cake shops, fishmongers etc etc and there is a local food market on Tuesdays in Los Boliches (on bus route) or at Fuengirola harbour.

Tickets to travel:
For coach tickets to Gibraltar (for travel the next day),Tarifa or Tangiers (once/twice weekly) you can obtain tickets at the travel agency (orange/yellow facade) on the beach near the apartment, walking toward Fuengirola. For both, pickup is early at the Fuengirola Park Hotel, next door to the apartment.
To purchase coach tickets for Marbella(1hr, every 40 mins until 23h) or Mijas, take the train/walk to Fuengirola train station, walk south toward the beach and the coach station is on the right.
For the main cities, Ronda/Granada/Seville/Cordoba/Antequerra or the lakes, take the train to Malaga, (30mins, roughly quarter past&quarter to the hour from 6.20am) exit at Malaga Maria Zambrano station and you can purchase the tickets from the coach station directly opposite the train station exit. A specific timetable can be requested and they regularly run well into the night. Sailing/Boat/Diving trips leave from Torreblanca, Tarifa, Fuengirola or Gibraltar.

The Spain to Africa ferries and other leisure boats are easily seen crossing the med from the balcony of the apartment.

Festivals - Carnavals- Feria -Fiestas- Many colourful spanish cultural activities until the small hours.

Fuengirola Feria and Fiesta del Rosario 6th to 12th October.

Marbella Feria de San Bernabe 7th to 14th June.

Cordoba Last week of May.

Mijas First fortnight of September.

Torremolinos. Last week of September.

Seville. 2 weeks after Easter.

**Please note we do not supply tea towels (locally approx 60cents each) or beach towels. It is recommended to bring slippers as the floor in the apartment is marble and is quiet hard under foot if you are used to carpet.
